Kyra Loft-Morrow

My name is Kyra Loft-Morrow and I am a recipient of the 2025 EOS scholarship to attend Space Tour USA with One Giant Leap Australia. Participating in Space Camp was one of the best experiences of my life; meeting like-minded peers, growing my passion for space, and being immersed in an environment that I truly felt at home. The rest of the tour was interactive and engaging- there wasn’t a dull moment on Space Tour USA.

Yet, my journey didn’t start in the October of 2025. I have been enamoured with the cosmos for as long as I can remember. My first space related experience was in Grade 5 at the Victorian Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC), where I participated in a simulated Mars mission. This experience was a game changer for me, beginning my mission to one day be employed at a Space Agency.

Since then, I have taken part in many initiatives to grow both my passion and knowledge toward aerospace. The connections and relationships I have made along the way are incredibly significant to me, and perhaps the benefit I appreciate the most.

An immersive educational trip for Australian students featuring a 5-day immersive Space Camp experience in Huntsville, Alabama; I am extremely grateful to have won the Right Stuff Award. The trip also includes visits to the California Science Center, visits to aerospace companies, and providing hands-on STEM training. I was supported by a partial scholarship from EOS and then proceeded to fund the rest of the money through a community raffle fundraiser.

My rocket that I designed, build, launched, and recovered (mostly) over the course of a month. It was for a school project, a final assignment worth most of my grade. After a semi-successful test launch and two official launches, I composed my data and presented it to NASA Artemis Engineer, Kevin Tones.

Through my Celestron telescope, I spend most nights looking into the night sky. I often take pictures of the moon and our planets to share with my community.
