Scarlett Gilbertson

Scarlett was awarded an EOS scholarship to attend Space Tour USA 2024, an experience that became a defining moment in her journey. Space Camp was transformative for her. It was an environment where she was constantly challenged, constantly learning, and constantly inspired. From mission simulations to rocket building, engineering challenges, and team based problem solving, she thrived in the fast paced, high expectation environment. Being surrounded by passionate, like minded students and expert instructors strengthened her confidence, sharpened her technical skills, and deepened her determination to pursue a future in the space sector. Space Camp remains one of the most exciting and motivating experiences of her life.

Scarlett is deeply grateful to Electro Optic Systems (EOS) for making this opportunity possible. Their support opened a pathway she once thought was out of reach and has played a significant role in shaping her aspirations for the future.

Scarlett also participated in the Global Space Challenge in both 2024 and 2025. In 2024 she placed 23rd with her team Galaga, and in 2025 she tied for 2nd place with The Booster Busters. This was a result that reflects her rapid growth and commitment to improving her technical and teamwork skills.

Looking ahead, Scarlett hopes to undertake a research project exploring exo planets and their potential to support human and plant life, combining her passion for space with her interest in science and sustainability.

Scarlett is currently in her first year of VCE, studying Chemistry, Physics, Literature, Religion and Society, General Mathematics, and International Politics and Relations, building a strong academic foundation for her future in STEM and space exploration.
