Who I am and how did I get here?
My name is Natalia Floriani, and I grew up in a rural town in Griffith NSW. My love for space came from those YouTube videos talking about fun facts in 2020 and became obsessed with telling people what I had learned. A few years later I would be put into a space workshop day in my local town run by One Giant Leap Australia in the summer of 2023. June 2024 would be the year I attended the Aerospace Camp in West Wyalong. That is where I found out about the USA Space Camp tour and signed up. A few months later I found that I was accepted and would submit a recorded video to get a partial scholarship by EOS. Initially I was denied but then given a second chance and ended up with a different partial scholarship that would assist me getting to the American Camp in 2025. I was given the chance to go to the EOS boot camp in Canberra in 2026 and become a Trailblazer.
What are my goals?
For a very long time I knew I wanted to work with stars. I never knew what I wanted to do job title wise after years of only being asked if I wanted to be an astronaut. I would later, at my USA Space Camp graduation, be given a partial scholarship for a university nearby, UAH. I researched that university and become very interested in astrophysics. Where I am currently, I am still very interested in astrophysics but also environmental science. I would love to get degrees in both, finding a job in the future I will enjoy and be able to do work that will contribute to the future of our planet, conservation of habitats and animals and all the above.
My Passions
I am also a very arty person. I love sketching, painting and just mapping out what I can see and music. I love filling my surroundings with all kinds of art and hope to eventually write songs to play along with my guitar.
I am very passionate about space and all that is in it. My interests in space are more specifically around galaxies, stars, black holes, and other outer spaces objects. I also have a very big interest in animals and meteorology. Storms, rain clouds, I love all that. Birds are also a massive interest of mine so I guess no matter what my head will be in the clouds.
